I already told you via PM how happy I am to know you are safe, my dearest hitomi, but I just wanted to say that Japan is the land of the sun, and like the Phoenix you will rise from the ashes no matter what and become as beautiful as ever again! current/smile

I just hope everything will calm down soon so Japan can start recovering...
No words can describe this tragedy.

Ah, you're too sweet, hitomi! ;_;
I want to go to Japan today and meet you!

Hihi, you know what?
I had an exam in Japanese today and one of the questions was "Why do you study Japanese?" and I had to answer it in Japanese.
My answer was that I studied Japanese since my friend hitomi-neesan is Japanese.
It was the first thing that popped up in my mind! current/lol
Yesterday I had an exam in KANJI, I hope it went well!
KANJI is my strongest subject. current/smile

チューチュー!! (~^3^)~♥

Maybe we can talk in Japanese I think, wow-----!!!
I'm gonna send something on your B-day, (hehe, same January!!)

If so, we can meet CRASHDIET and Hellman family again, surely  http://www.crashdiet.org/components/com_agora/converter/{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif

I guess it's a bit late for me to wish you a Merry Christmas,
so I'll just say あけましておめでとう!! instead current/smile
You know, if you had been able to come here for RIS I'd be happy to babysit Emiya for you,
I've gotten alot better in Japanese. current/lol
I miss you and I think of you every day and it makes me happy to know you're fine.

I hope it is OK for me to do this post...
I don't know if there are any fans of Versailles on this board, but I am a fan and I was shocked to just find out about their bassist Jasmine You's passing.

This is taken from their website [which at the moment is impossible to access]:
2009.8.9 更新

兼ねてより体調不良にてお休みをいただいておりましたJasmine Youですが、8月9日未明に永眠いたしました事をまずここにご報告させていただきます。あまりに突然な出来事に、メンバー・スタッフ共に今はまだ茫然と現実を受け入れることで精一杯です。

「Versailles」 Urgent Announcement

Though Jasmine You had taken time off in order to rest because of poor physical condition, we received a report that early in the morning on August 9th, he died. Because of the extreme abruptness of this news, the members and staff are all dumbfounded and trying hard to accept this it.

As soon as his family has been notified and updated as to the details and we receive their permission, we will further report to all of the fans.

Moreover, with the current announcement, in regards to activity, please allow us to postpone it.

A fan video [not by me] with one of my favourite Versailles songs After Cloudia

R.I.P. Jasmine You, you'll be truly missed.

I don't mind it, but it has to fit the song.

It sure looks like it, doesn't it? current/lol
I'm still pissed about not finding the bowling video, though. It's way funnier.
I have it on my computer, but I'm just too lazy to upload it. current/lol

hitomi wrote:

hehe, yeah, most of them ( 80-90s Japanese Rock Stars ) were short,
Especially, All of KAMAITACHI were under 170cm ( about 160 - 168 ),
X are... Yoshiki is 174cm, Taiji is maybe 178 or something ( He is tall as Japanese ), Pata is about 168, HIDE was 170 or 171cm, Toshi is 165 or something...L'Arc en Ciel's Hyde is under 160cm (shorter than Kyo )

BTW, all of " Tokyo Yankees " are over 180cm, so they were always like bodyguards of X...

When you finish your project, ( if you like it ) show me it current/smile

Sorry, hitomi, really late response!
I don't check this board as often as I used to, hehe...

Oh, TOKYO YANKEES as bodyguards? That must have been useful. current/smile
You know, I always thought of Dynamite Tommy as rather tall [about 175 cm, or something. To me that is tall, hihi]...
But that must be because of the very first video I ever saw him in.
It's a video where he and a girl are bowling together with some Japanese rockers.
[I came across it since Die is in it, hihihihi.]
Anyway, Tommy's standing next to the girl in the beginning, and he looks tall next to her. current/lol
So I just got the impression he was tall.
But really, what I learned about Tommy in the bowling video was that:
1. He's not very good at bowling.
2. His yellow hat was really cute.

I couldn't find the bowling video on YouTube, but I did find this:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Not as fun as the bowling video, but you can see Tommy's hat I mentioned earlier. current/lol

And I finished my project earlier today, I'm going to PM it to you now! current/big_smile

hitomi wrote:

Sorry, Gabbi
Late response!!

Tommy's height is under 170cm, maybe 167 or 168 cm...I think.
In my memory, Tatsuya and Cindie (guitarists) were tall...

Omg, that's so cute! http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/7395/obsesslv9.gif

Thanks for the help, now I can start on my project when I have the time! current/big_smile

hitomi, just a quick question:
Do you know Dynamite Tommy's height? .__.
It might sound crazy, but I need to know for a project I'm working on... current/lol

[color=yellow]Great thread, hitomi! current/big_smile
I don't know much about the older Japanese bands... So I'd like to learn about them!
The old bands I really listen to are BUCK-TICK, LUNA SEA, B'z, X and I like COLOR too, even if I don't have any of their music, hoho.
I don't know, but does Kuroyume count as one of the "older" bands? 'Cause I really like them.
I like all of Kiyoharu's work. current/smile

I know more about newer bands, and I could ramble on about them but I'll have to take that some other time, because I have trouble with focusing atm, since I recentley lost my dog and it broke my heart...

But I recommend people to listen to MUCC's latest album!
Many MUCC fans don't like it, but I think it's really awesome. current/smile
"shiva" is my favourite song on that album.

Also, I am so sorry about the loss of your friend, hitomi.
I hope you're doing OK!

Anyway, about the tribute summit and Dir's participation, I don't kow how I feel about that.
I friggin' love Dir, and anyone who knows me are aware of that, but still...
It actually surprised me when I first found out about their participation in the tribute summit.
Why? Because the last years they've been fighting so hard to get rid of their roots.
At least that's how many fans feel.
And also, Kaoru [one of the guitarists] stopped running around with his hide-plushie a long time ago. He used to state that he always took it with him, and it used to be on stage with him, but you don't see it anymore.

Sure, all people change their image, but you don't have to try to erase your past.

There are alot of things I could say about this whole thing, but I won't post it here.
It just doesn't feel right to talk about it openly. current/smile
I'm happy to see Dir in the setlist, I really am. They've come a long way, and I'm sure this means alot to them.
I just hope that playing on the same stage as some of the bands who inspired them in their youth, and also get to hang out with them backstage maybe?, will make them maybe play some older stuff at concerts too. current/smile

This came out wrong, but it's so hard to put all of your thoughts and feelings down in letters, when you know you probably will be missunderstood. ^^

Blah, this thread isn't about Dir, sorry for babbling on about them.

I wish I could attend the tribute summit, it would have been so great.
Sadly, it is impossible.
I'm sure it will be such a great rock'n'roll party! current/smile
There will be so many of the bands I like playing there.
I hate that I will miss out on it.

Also, I wish I could get my hands on one of the black "psychobear" T-shirts they're selling at LEMONed SHOP, but they're all sold out, and besides I'm pretty sure they wouldn't ship to Sweden, since the entire page is in Japanese. ^^
Ah well, I can't do anything about it, except from accepting the truth, and that is that I'll never get one. current/smile

Ouff, this became a long post, and I didn't mean for it to happen.
I'll end this post now and continue to work on the drawing of hide-sama I've forgotten to finish for such a long time. current/smile
I hope I'll finish it soon, so I can put it in my art book before I'll have the book printed! current/big_smile

I didn't like that whole "hologram" thing they had going on with hide-sama.
It felt a bit too much. current/roll
Thousands of pixels on a pillar-looking thing can't never ever replace a human.
I would have liked it more if they had just placed one of his old guitars on his place on stage, and let SUGIZO play hide-sama's parts.

Also, I laughed quite alot when Yoshiki was thrasing his drums after "Silent Jealousy" and got stuck in the drums and fell.
It looked so god damn funny. current/lol

That's why I'm not going to their Paris show.
My brother's going, though. He and his friends are going to try to get tickets.

My brother is a very big Yoshiki fan, he claims that Yoshiki is the reason he started to play drums, so I can understand that he wants to see him in action.

But for me, the thought of a decent X re-union died with hide-sama...
Yoshiki should just focus on S.K.I.N. or V.UK instead. :

I've chosen for some time now to stay out of this topic, since a reunion of X is not of my liking at all.
I don't know, maybe it is my loyal feeling towards hide-sama which makes me feel like this, but still.
However, the new song is really good, I must admit it, and I'll keep on supporting Yoshiki-sama and the rest of X, even I don't like their new plans.
According to Yoshiki-sama's blogg on MySpace X might do a Europe tour. If so, I want to go, but still I don't. I'm torned, hehe.
I want to go since X are some of my biggest idols, but I don't want to go since hide-sama won't be there.

The only reason I post this is because hitomi's latest post made me cry.
I had to lay down, I cried so much.
It pains me to read your sadness and your memories, hitomi.
It pains me to know that I will never see one of my biggest heroes alive.
